Sponsors

Every pair of Supershoes is funded by donations from kind sponsors, who come in all shapes and sizes…..

From parents of previous recipients who want to ‘pay forward’ the gift of Supershoes, to fundarisers who have organised an event of some description in order to make a donation. We receive one-off payments from some and regular sponsorship from others. Some want to remain anonymous, whilst others are happy to share their donation and/or story.

Here are some of those we are able to share with you.

 Sponsor - Gary Parsons

Gary Parsons

Gary knows all about the challenges that a cancer diagnosis brings. This football referee has been fighting his own battle with bowel cancer and understands just how gruelling chemotherapy can be. And this is why Gary decided to use the strapline “make fighting cancer a little easier” and do something extraordinary for others. He certainly didn’t make things easy for himself, that’s for sure. Gary has completed a marathon: running, rowing and cycling and raised funds for over 20 pairs of Supershoes! This will certainly bring a huge smile to many children and young people and make their journey a little easier, through his huge effort. Brilliant, Gary: what a superhero!

Awesome fundraising Giang!

 Sponsor - Gill Long

Gill Long

As well as dedicating her time to us as one of our Super Volunteers, Gill has also raised a lovely sum of money for us via a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser …

Sponsor - Girl Guides South Bedfordshire

Girl Guides South Bedfordshire

The Leighton Buzzard District held a Carol Celebration on 3rd December 2018 & raised a phenomenal amount of money. Each girl in every unit was given a mini box of smarties which they filled with silver coins, the Brownies were asked to do a Good Turn, one guide unit chose to do a ‘Step A Thon’ & a collection was taken from the families who were there to support their daughters. The girls were so happy to raise money for our charity as lots of them have these shoes & know how much they cost.

 Sponsor - Gita Konschak

Gita Konschak

As so often happens, an established Super Artist becomes a Sponsor too! Gita was already a registered speaker with the Oxfordshire Federation of Women’s institutes, promoting face painting from the perspective of a designer. (This was primarily to promote her business in her local area). When she got involved as a Super Artist for Supershoes, she decided that this would be a good opportunity to change her presentation and help promote Supershoes in her local area instead, whilst helping raising funds. Gita says, “It feels very rewarding to know that every little helps and that all of us together can make a difference to the children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer and who are referred to Supershoes.”

 Sponsor - Glyn Goodwin

Glyn Goodwin

One of our Super Artists Glyn has raised funds by painting a baby bump, has held a Face painting jam (get together) with funding raised through the raffle and entry donations & she selflessly asked for birthday donations to Supershoes for a recent birthday.

Guides of Kent East

The girls and adults of Kent East were inspired by one of their members, Orla, who had received a pair of Supershoes! They wanted to raise money for some more Supershoes for children! Fundraising was undertaken in many ways - mainly having fun!
