“I was shown the Supershoes website through a friend, and I was immediately drawn into getting involved. As a mother and grandmother myself, painting these fun and funky shoes presented a heartwarming, perfect opportunity to bring some joy to a sick child through art. The Supershoes Team are amazing and so organised and professional! I'm honoured to be involved in some small way.”

“The reason I signed up to be a Super Artist at Supershoes is to bring a little bit of sunshine to those who deserve it.”

Super Artist - Claire

A professional face painter who enjoys a variety of arts and crafts, with her favourites being charcoal and pastel drawing.

“Volunteering for Supershoes allows me to help put a smile on a child’s face. I like to paint bold designs, cartoon characters and superheroes, incorporating each child’s favourite things into a pair of unique shoes just for them.”

Super Artist - Claire

“I first heard about Supershoes through a friend who also volunteers here and after seeing the boost a personalised pair of Supershoes can give a poorly child I knew it was something I wanted to be involved in. It's an honour to be part of such a unique charity and being able to see the difference we make to these little lives is a truly special experience”

Super Artist - Claire

Claire is an administrator for a department store in Norwich. She has been fond of art forever, starting out by drawing and painting, and has recently started sculpting with air dry clay.

“I joined Super Shoes because I was a child of cancer myself. I survived an osteosarcoma in my right femur when I was 17. I feel that keeping a child's morale up in such a tough time is so very important. Half the battle is having a reason or goal to stay positive. I had so much help and support during that time myself, I feel this is a great way to give something back. To actually be able to bring a spot of light into a child's life is such an amazing thing. ”

Super Artist - Clare

I am a mother of three and also work in a Primary School as part of the Pastoral Team. I have an Art Degree and do some freelance work as an illustrator with several published books featuring my illustrations. I am new to the team in 2022 and love painting shoes for Supershoes.

“I hope that the young people I paint shoes for get some happiness from wearing them. They certainly deserve to feel special and cherished at a time in their lives that must be very difficult for them.”

Super Artist - Claudia

Over the last 10 years Claudia has worked in education with children ages 3 - 11 years, using her creative skills to create interesting wall displays and also her musical streak in the school orchestra and choir. For the last 2 years she was pastoral lead at a primary school helping children to cope with any issues they had, bereavement, parent separation, illness etc … & last year Claudia decided to become a driving instructor and is currently training young and old adults to overcome/cope with anxiety that driving can give.

“I absolutely love the idea that I can support children/young people who are poorly and painting shoes that are unique only to them. I am thrilled that supershoes are now able to support young adults by including them in Supershoes referrals too. What an honour!”

Super Artist - Connie

Super Artist and fundraiser, Connie is a huge video game and manga fan. She painted her first Supershoes aged 12.

“It upsets me that children are ill and every time I see a pair of Supershoes it makes me feel a little sad, but to know that child is given a little bit of hope and happiness makes me feel so happy.”

Super Artist - Connie

I’m almost 21 years old, am Disney/Cartoon mad, and have a big love for animals! I have an illness called M.E and can only work part-time, so Super-Shoe painting is the perfect thing to do on my days off.
