Super Oscar's Story

Super Oscar's Story May 2024

A weakness in Oscar's right arm and hand was the start of the journey no family wants to take...

Super Oscar’s Journey

Super Oscar has had more than his fair share of tests and surgery already, at the tender age of two. He is currently awaiting further surgery and chemotherapy to treat his pilocytic astrocytoma (brain tumour). Sending you all the love, Oscar! We know you’ve been wearing your Supershoes to treatment sessions at the hospital, so we’re sure that the superpowers they give you will be helpful!

Super Oscar’s Diagnosis

Brain and spinal cord tumours are the most common form solid tumours found in children with around 400 being diagnosed each year in the UK. Find out more about Brain & Spinal Tumours

The Supershoes

Bing and Tractor Ted were the two most important subjects for Super Oscar’s Supershoes. Super Artist Sonia made an awesome job of them, as Oscar’s family told us: “Thank you so much for Oscar’s incredibly special Supershoes that arrived on Tuesday morning. The timing was perfect, as we were just about to leave for a long day of tests and scans at the Royal Marsden. Oscar has had several hospital appointments this week, and we are saving his shoes to wear to any appointments/treatment. Oscar is very proud to show off his shoes and loves pointing at the different characters on them. Thank you for making this week a little bit more bearable.” We’re so glad they’re helping you all along!
