Super Ava's Story

Super Ava's Story March 2024

Chemotherapy is gruelling for little ones. Super Ava is feeling the side effects, so it's Supershoes to the rescue...

Super Ava’s Journey

Ava is undergoing two years of chemotherapy in her battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Ava’s mum told us that the treatment has affected the muscles in Ava’s legs. They hope that with the magic of her new Supershoes, she will be encouraged to get out and about and take part in activities to build up the strength in her legs as she recovers from her treatment. We hope your Supershoes will give you all the superpowers you need, Ava!

Super Ava’s Diagnosis

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) is the most common form of leukaemia in children under the age of 14, affecting around 400 each year. Find out more about Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

The Supershoes

Ava’s favourite character from Spidey and Friends is Ghost Spider, so she was keen to have this on her Supershoes, along with planets, rainbows and the glitterball from Strictly. Super Artist Nikki took on the challenge, and made sure they were all there. Ava’s mum told us, “To the amazing artist who made Ava’s Supershoes! Thank you so much. They are the coolest trainers ever!” We’re so glad you love them, Ava! Sending you lots of love. Ava2
