Birthdays bring all kinds of emotions to the fore, don’t they? Some love them. Some dread them. Some like a big fuss, others prefer to ignore them. Well, at Supershoes, we’re completely thrilled that, unlike a lot of new businesses, that fade away within the first five years, we’re bigger, stronger and better than ever and going from strength to strength.
When I remember that first pair of shoes, painted for Super Henry, and the little idea that Ken and I had, to bring a smile to a very poorly child, little did I suspect that 5 years later, I’d be running an office with over 20 Super Volunteers and an awesome tribe of over 300 Super Artists, partnered with one of the biggest children’s cancer charities: CLIC Sargent.
So, how are we celebrating? I’d like to say with a huge cake, but I have just started a healthy eating regime, so probably not this year. We’re celebrating by continuing to do what we do best: bringing smiles and hope to families going through the most challenging time in their lives. We’re celebrating by feeling immensely proud of what we do, remembering all the children we’ve been in touch with over the years: over 2,500 of them now. We’re celebrating the endless creativity of our Super Artists, who give hours and hours of their time to produce such beautiful mini-masterpieces for super brave children.
We have a lot to celebrate, now and in the future. And make no mistake, Supershoes’ future is multicoloured, painted with love and laced with hope!
