We’ve had some amazing donations coming through lately from people doing all sorts of wonderful things to raise money for Supershoes.
We’re always super grateful when people take time out of their busy lives to organise events, take on challenges or partake is something in a bid to raise funds which in turn enables us to empower children fighting cancer.
So to celebrate this, we wanted to highlight some of the wonderful donations we have received recently…..
Super Ellenor received a pair of Supershoes last year when she was battling a brain tumour. She’s since had an operation to remove it and is doing really well. Her Super Mum Lisa wanted to give something back to both Supershoes and another charity Brainbow which supported them along their journey. She organised a fundraiser in May, where they had stalls, a bouncy castle, children’s balloon modelling, an ice cream van, licenced bar and much much more. An amazing day was had by all and they raised a wonderful sum of £1000 for each charity.
Stag Lane First School hold an Easter Egg raffle each year and this year they chose to support Supershoes. All the eggs are donated by staff and they raised over £100!!
Super Harry was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia in April 2015 and we created a pair of Supershoes for him last Summer. His Super Mum Charlotte, is also a teacher at Harry’s school and back in February they did some fundraising for us – Allowing children to swap their school shoes for their favourite shoes. In total they raised just under £700 and even made it into their local paper!
Super Oscar was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Oct 2016 and received a pair of Thomas the Tank Engine inspired Supershoes. His Uncle Joseph saw how his Supershoes helped him regain mobility after the effects of his chemo & steroids and wanted other children to receive the gift of Supershoes too. Joseph raised over £680 by shaving off his hair, which he also donated to charity.
